How Good Is Anthony Martial Going to Be?

Manchester United was only scoring one goal per game in the Premier League before Sept.12. Then they bought the 19 year old French striker Anthony Martial. Since the arrival of Martial, United scored nine goals in their last three Premier League games. Martial scored three of these nine goals and had one assist.

In all competition the teenager have four goals and one assist in five games for Manchester United:
1 goal vs Liverpool/   English Premier League 3-1 win
0 goal vs PSV Eindhoven/    UEFA Champions League 2-1 loss
2 goals vs Southampton/    EPL 3-2 win
1 goal vs Ipswich Town/    Captial One Cup 3-0 win
1 assist vs Sunderland/    EPL 3-0 win

Impressive! The kid is only nineteen years old. He's younger than me! Okay, Sunderland, Southampton and Ipswich are weak teams. Can Martial keep scoring-- even against strong teams? Or is he going to dry out? Is this just a dream beginning that will fade away? Like Santino Quaresma or Freddy Adu who everybody thought was going to be a star and change US Soccer.

Or is he going to keep an impressive goal scoring record? Like Thierry Henry or Wayne Rooney.

Or is he even going to be better? I'm talking about being called the best player in the world. Like Messi and Ronaldo-- somebody's going to have to replace them. Four goals in five games for United at 19 is a great start.

Let's see what he does against Wolfsburg this Wednesday in the Champions League. The cameras are on you, youngblood.

How Will Barcelona Perform Without Messi?

FC Barcelona's all time top scorer Lionel Messi suffered a knee injury in a 2-1 win against Las Palmas this past Saturday. Las Palmas' defender Pedro Bigas put up a strong tackle-- clean tackle-- on the Argentinean as he attempted to shoot. Messi is expected to miss 7-8 weeks.

The 28 year old  scored 58 of Barcelona's 150 goals last season and led La Liga in assist with 18.

Best case scenario Barca is without their star player for seven weeks. That would be five La Liga games and three Champions League games.

La Liga: Sevilla, Rayo Vallecano, SD Eibar, Getafe and Villareal. Real Madrid's game is in eight weeks and a day, if Messi doesn't drink his milk, he might miss that one too.

UCL: Bayer Leverkusen and two games against Bate Borisov.

Barcelona performed well without Messi in the past. But this season they're not at their best, they lost to Atletico Bilbao in the Supercopa, beat Las Palmas in a weak 2-1 score and lost to Levante 4-1.

And they conceded eight goals in seven games-- that's not blaugrana like. Goals will be needed. Yes, the Spanish champions have Neymar and Suarez. Can they step up and perform without Messi in a Barcelona team that hasn't been doing so well?

More than likely Munir el Haddadi will be the one called upon to replace the four times World Player of the Year. He  had an assist against Las Palmas. Next up, a champions league game against Bayer Leverkusen for the 19 year old. Interesting.

3 Games That Will Shake the World this Weekend

I hope you paid your cable bill because this weekend is going to be the most beautiful weekend of The Beautiful Game so far this season. No, I can't predict the future but I can read a schedule. Manchester United is playing Liverpool at 12:30 tomorrow, Atletico Madrid will be hosting Barcelona that same day at 2:30.  And last but not least, we have the Milan Derby: Inter vs Milan, Sunday at 2:45.

Let's start in England, both United and Liverpool will look to bounce back from a tough loss. Manchester United just bought the French teenager Anthony Martial. The 19 year old proved to have a lot of potential at his former team Monaco, he's expected to make his debut against Liverpool.

Just 30 minutes after this game, Barcelona is playing Atletico Madrid. Barca is coming from two weak 1-0 win. Can Messi score his first goal in La Liga this season?

AC Milan vs Inter Milan! You right, this fixture doesn't sound that exciting anymore. But a rivalry like this never dries out.  One word for Milan: Balotelli. The Italian posted a picture of him kissing the Milan badge on Instantgram two days ago. You gotta watch this guy play Sunday, so pay your cable. You can't come to my house.

Sorry Balotelli, Inter's going to win. They're undefeated in their first two games, their striker Jovetic is hot, he scored three goals in those two games. Inter 2-1 Milan. United and Liverpool will play a well fought 1-1 draw. Both team have been struggling to score, United scored three goals in four games, Liverpool scored two.

Barcelona will lose their first game to Atletico 2-1. Why? Atletico beat Sevilla 3-0 two weeks ago. They defended like beasts as always, had four yellow cards. Messi, watch out. Pique is still out, and think of Atletico's new signing, Martinez. He scored against Sevilla. Atletico is at home.

If you don't like my predictions, write something.
